+ CBD
CBD is a hemp derivative that is clinically proven to reduce inflammation, relieve pain, and reduce anxiety. The salve I use is 500mg, making it rather potent. The salve will be massaged into your areas of focus and any other problem areas identified in the course of your session.
IMPORTANT NOTE: There is no THC in the salve, and it will not cause you to feel 'high'.

+ Hot Stones
There are many ways to use stones in massage, but my preference is to use them as tools. The heated stones can be used to apply relaxing strokes down the back, or to knead the calves, or even to release trigger points. They can be used with any level of pressure or style of massage. I would recommend hot stone: if you are looking to catch some zzz's, if you cannot handle very much pressure but still need to work out knots, if you have very stubborn knots that won't go away completely with standard massage, or if you're simply looking to add a little bit more relaxation to your day.

+ Cupping
Cupping is a bodywork technique that uses cups to produce suction on the applied tissue. Suction is beneficial to remove adhesions deep within the tissue. This happens by increasing intercellular space (space in between the cells), which allows fresh nutrients to flood in and push out any stagnant lymph. The heat from the blood carrying the nutrients works to dissolve the adhesion while the fresh nutrients and blood allow the healing process to begin. I recommend cupping: if you have stubborn adhesions in bony areas, if you need to work out deep adhesions with lighter pressure, or if you have a lot of generalized tightness without a clear cause.
DISCLAIMER: Cupping can cause bruising that can last from one day to a couple weeks. The bruises do not typically hurt, but are noticeable, so please make sure that won't be a problem before you come in. Cupping is not advised for those on blood thinners or who are pregnant.

+ Scraping
Scraping is a modality of massage in which stainless steel (or stone) tools are used to scrape along the skin, in order to create friction. This friction works to remove adhesions, ranging from regular knots to the dreaded scar tissue. Scraping is extremely beneficial for the bony areas of the body that don’t have as much tissue to manipulate. Examples of popular areas to scrape include: hands, feet, elbows, and the lower back.
While not as intense as it sounds, scraping is still a deeper modality that will illicit some discomfort during the treatment. However, it is an extremely effective tool for getting rid of pains that regular massage just doesn’t seem to fully release.

Prenatal/Pregnancy
*for pregnant clients*
When you are growing a whole human, you DESERVE a massage. You can receive massage throughout your entire pregnancy, as long as you are approved by your OB. There are a few things to know though: you cannot receive deep tissue at any point during your pregnancy (highest pressure that is safe for the baby = medium to some firm), and you cannot receive very much gluteal work (it can shift the pelvis, which is not worth the risk to the baby). However, the good news is that you can still have an amazing and relaxing massage to give your body a much deserved break.
